EICR

We know how important it is to get the best aftercare and testing. If you need work done that needs a new circuit or fuse box, our registered electricians can give you an Electrical Service Certificate.

Every five years, landlords need to have a new EICR. For homeowners without an EIC in the first place may need to get an EICR before selling a house. Plus, property owners need to ensure fire and security alarms are up to date. Our registered electricians can ensure that you get the appropriate certificates for your property.

MEIWC

Eco Electrical can offer you aftercare and testing for even small electrical work. MEIWCs or Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificates are for less intrusive electrical work. We usually provide this when we work on existing circuits. MEIWCs do not cover special areas like kitchens and bathrooms. When you contact our team, our registered electricians can help you.

Part P Certificate

A Part P Certificate ensures that any electrical work our contractors do protects people from fire and electrical shocks. Building owners must have a Part P certificate from a registered electrician in order to prove to the local authority that electrical work meets government standards.

With our Park Gate team of registered electricians, we’ll be able to ensure that you don’t have to pay any building control charges. Plus, we’ll deal with everything and make sure that you get your certificate. Our registered electricians make sure that we meet BS 7671 standards.

FAQ's

We know that our customers have questions about the type of work our registered electricians do. That’s why we have our list of frequently asked questions. If you have a question you don’t see, you can always call us. Our friendly team of registered electricians can answer any of your queries.

  • Who needs to be notified about electrical work?

As the installer, Eco Electrical’s registered electricians will handle all of your aftercare and testing. We will notify the local authority if any work is ‘high risk’. ‘High risk’ work includes new electrical circuits, replacement fuse boxes, alterations to existing circuits with showers, baths, swimming pools or saunas.

But we’ll make sure that the local authority gets all of your certificates without any concern.

  • What is an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)?

An Electrical Installation Condition Report is an assessment by a registered electrician. We test the safety of existing electrical equipment and installations within a property. The EICR rates the safety and operation of equipment and whether it is in good repair for continued use.

This means our registered electrician will check old wiring, faulty sockets, or electrical equipment near showerheads. We’re looking to see if they could start a fire or cause a safety hazard to the tenant.

You should be aware that properties must achieve an EICR rating of E for landlords to let a property. The EICR will deem the property Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory. There are three Unsatisfactory Codes:

      • C1 – where danger is present and immediate remedial action is required*
      • C2 – potentially dangerous, urgent remedial action is then required
      • F1 – further investigation required

*When we find clear and present danger, our registered electrician will immediately take care of the risk.

If you get an Unsatisfactory rating, we can talk more about the improvements that need to be done and offer you a quote.

  • What regulations are required for electrical work?

In addition to getting an EICR every five years, landlords must have operable smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and a Gas Safety Certificate. While smoke alarms must be on every floor of the property, carbon monoxide alarms are wherever there is a gas appliance. Our registered electricians can offer you fire and security alarms and meet BS 5839 standards.

However, the Gas Safety Certificate is valid for only one year. Our NICEIC registered electricians can check the gas appliances on your property.

  • Do you offer PAT testing?

No. Unfortunately, we do not offer PAT testing.
